21ST ANNUAL AWARDS CEREMONY

The South Bay Workforce Investment Board (SBWIB) oversees an 11-city consortium of Hawthorne, Hermosa Beach, Gardena, Inglewood, Lawndale, Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach, Carson, El Segundo, Lomita and Torrance.  Through this partnership, more than 100,000 youth, adults and dislocated workers annually receive a wide range of self-help and staff-assisted career services including labor market information, on-line career profiles, career interest inventories, supportive service referrals, vocational counseling, technical training and job placement assistance.
This annual awards ceremony, hosted by the SBWIB, Inc., gives us an opportunity to honor our dedicated partners and customers, who continually strive for success, by recognizing their excellence.  The ceremony was held at the Torrance o Marriott n Thursday, October 13, 2016.

Every year we bestow our esteemed Esther Williams Award of Excellence. Esther Williams was one of the pioneer members of the SBWIB, serving for several years on the board, and was the first chairperson of the Private Industry Council Board of Directors (predecessor to the South Bay Workforce Investment Board) in 1982. She was well known for her commitment and leadership in making sure the board fulfilled its purpose of providing the highest quality job training and job placement services for adults and youth in the South Bay.

This year's recipient, Linda Bradley, Chief Executive Officer of Centinela Valley Hospital Medical Center, epitomizes her record of service and commitment to the lofty ideals and purpose of the South Bay Workforce Investment Board, and strives to improve our community’s quality of life through professionalism and lasting contributions.
