YouthBuild is a college-going program. We prepare our students to ask informed questions to determine which postsecondary education (PSE) opportunity they want to pursue.

Through presentations and fieldtrips, we familiarize our students with PSE opportunities in Los Angeles and the surrounding area.

 

Students complete a labor market research project to learn about the average wages and job growth trends for their desired career. They then research which PSE programs offer their desired major or certification. Students complete the PSE enrollment process before they receive their high school diplomas. Steps of enrollment typically include college or training program applications, orientations, placement tests and financial aid applications.

 

By the time they walk the stage at graduation, each student has a plan for their continued success at the post-secondary level.
