LIFE SKILLS

We offer a series of required courses through relationship building curricula developed by The Dibble Institute. These curricula focus on building healthy relationships, money management and communication. These courses explore the importance of personal accountability and the emotional skills needed to navigate relationships in the classroom, workplace, and home.

In addition, our students participate in “Blueprint for Workplace Success,” a work readiness course developed by the Workforce Investment Board. This course teaches students the skills needed to maintain employment. These skills include punctuality, appropriate dress, proper etiquette, dependability and decision making. Students also create an email address, resume, and cover letter, and they obtain two letters of recommendation, a log of references and the skills needed to fill out job applications. The culmination of this course is a interview with a partner employer, which can lead to a job.
