Biography

Sharina Williams is SBWIB YouthBuild's School Site Coordinator and the Inglewood and Hawthorne Teen Center Coordinator. She has been working at the South Bay Workforce Investment Board (SBWIB) for three years. Before joining SBWIB, she spent six years managing and operating after school programs for the Inglewood Unified School District and Los Angeles Unified School District.

Sharina graduated from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, with a B.A in History. She has continued her education at Antioch University, and earned her Master's in Education and Preliminary Teaching Credential. Sharina believes, "Dreams do not come true because you dream them. It is hard work that makes things happen. It is hard work that creates change." Fundamentally, she loves working with young people. She thinks they are brilliant, and they are all different, with diverse personalities and possibilities.

Sharina believes that young adults that come from challenging backgrounds and situations need people like us at SBWIB YouthBuild to be role models and help them get the best shot in life; This is why she is committed to SBWIB.
